 Kyle is deaf and does not read lips. He would be unable to play football without an interpreter. Thanks to the generosity of the 9-year-old's teammates, the team is well on their way to raising enough money to make sure Kyle has an interpreter at every scrimmage and practice.

Playing football for the Franklin Chargers Pop Warner team is all about learning the game and also how to be part of a team. The 8, 9, and 10-year-old players, as well as their coach, say they get just as much out of having Kyle and his interpreter on the field as he gets out of it.

This is the third year Kyle has been with the team. Over the years, the team has simplified communication for Kyle. Rather than signing each play, the plays have been assigned numbers so that the interpreter only needs to sign out one number for Kyle to know what to do.

Kyle, who begged his parents to play football, hopes to continue to play and continue to dream big.

"I wouldn't mind playing for the Patriots," the 9-year-old told FOX 25's Heather via an interpreter.

One of Kyle's teammates lauded his athletic ability, saying he is really good at passing and getting hand offs, but above all that he says Kyle is a good friend.

The team has raised $2,025 of the $3,600 needed to pay for an interpreter. They will be holding a fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday at Cole's Tavern on Washington Street. The event will include a live band, "The Sellouts," beginning at 8:30 p.m.
